"Do you think gamefreak will ever make main series games targeted at their long-time fans?"

It would be nice to have games that pay respect to the fans who have been playing the games 20+ years. I'm not talking about gritty, "adult" themes, it should still be accessible to kids but not condescending to their intelligence. I just want pokemon to feel like a challenging adventure again, and I think this could easily be done if gamefreak decides not to be greedy/lazy.-Open-world where gym leaders/ main NPCs have scaled leveling based on your highest level pokemon. Gym leaders should have a team that is 2-5 levels higher than yours with a minimum level based on how many badges you already have. This would make people play more strategically, and the grind aspect would still be there. Your rival should be treated similarly - their levels and yours should match. Also, have wild pokemon notably scaled down from your party so that you have to put work in if you want a viable new team member.-Bring back your rival having type advantage. Bring back complex, layered caves and dungeons. Basically stop assuming the young fan base is too stupid to work their way through a challenging world - they really aren't. Have a few post-game only caves that are especially complex and have dangerous/ high level pokemon (still scaled to your party) that lead to mythicals, so that obtaining them is the highest possible challenge but not impossible if you've missed the events so far. Every pokemon that has existed should be obtainable, but some of them should be extremely hard to get to.-No more NPCs holding your hand and slowing down progress that you could make on your own if you used your brain. Shops should pay you less for literal trash you find on the ground, at least comparatively to how expensive essentials like potions and pokeballs cost. Repels should be especially expensive.I don't feel like any of these ideas are unreasonable but they probably aren't new either, it's just up to gamefreak to actually respect their fans who have wanted a more complete + layered game for generations.EDIT: The elite 4 and champion should also be downright scary. Levels scaled 5+ above your best poke, using competitive strategies and items and allowing switching instead of just using their pokes until they faint via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2Vjuvng
