"Opinion: Gen 7 was a lot better than most give credit for."

Note that this is an opinion and thoughts on everything can be subjective, so if you hate Gen 7, that's alright too.Something I keep seeing with Gen 7 is that people complain about the cutscenes being all over the place, which ended up being a huge problem in Gen 8. And because of that, there's a lot of hate towards the games due to being worse if you try to replay it.I think that just looking at the cutscene aspect alone disregards a lot of the important parts of the game, because yeah, it is a bit intrusive, but it actually holds a decent plot with some pretty brutal and dark tones and themes. Lusamine being an insane maniac with her "collection?" Her own children having to run away from her just to get away from it all? Lillie being dressed up to look like Nihilego, an ultra beast which Lusamine is obsessed with? The sudden realization when you reach Po Town that Team Skull isn't just a gang or anything, but people who wound up with nothing else and that they're not all that evil?Compared to some other games, that's a huge increase in plot, and (in my opinion) it's a lot better than the issue with Gen 8 where there are more intrusions but a much worse plot. Gen 8 is hated and loved at the same time, with some having a blast with it and some despising it, but from all I've seen, a lot of the complaints towards Gen 8 are less there in Gen 7, and it doesn't look like many actually enjoyed Gen 7.Gen 7 was far from perfect, but I feel like it was the most packed with stuff since Gen 5, complete with both megas and Z-Moves and some great Pokémon like Mimikyu and Palossand, and it even introduced Alolan Forms. The Battle Royale feature was always incredible fun, and I remember battling friends and it was some of the most fun in a Pokémon game since Gen 5. The Poké Pelago was always fun to me, and it feels like they crammed as much as they could with their release cycle into the games. They were flawed, but they were giant steps now that Game Freak had done the first gen with 3D beforehand. But the general consensus from what I've seen is that they are awful, just because of cutscenes, and I'm a bit saddened by that.That's my opinion, but feel free to disagree!
