"Gible Community Day Still Needs to Happen"

#PokemonGO: Nobody should have gone into GO Fest with set expectations. Niantic can't read our minds, so they would never have been able to deliver something that is exactly what we were hoping for, which is fair. However, something that part of the community has been very vocal about is the desire for Gible to be the featured Pokémon in a Community Day event. I'm sure many people (myself included) thought that Gible spawns were going to be significant during GO Fest. After all, it's one of the most highly desired Pokémon which would be perfect to spawn en mass during the Pokémon GO event of the year. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.Sure, Gible spawned. Maybe if you were lucky you managed to catch about 40 (a number that I personally haven't seen reported from anyone) and even nab yourself a Shiny. If you're one of these people, however, you're likely in the minority. You rolled the dice and the odds were in your favor. The RNG gods didn't smile upon everyone during GO Fest.Compared to what we would expect to see during a Community Day, the extent to which Gible was featured during GO Fest is incomparable. 40 Gible (if you're lucky) is night and day to the hundreds of Gible (a decent number of which could be Shiny) that would be caught during the entire duration of a Community Day event, even if they were only 3 hours long like before COVID-19.Is the middle of a global pandemic a good time to feature one of the most highly coveted Pokémon in a Community Day? No. However, when COVID-19 is no longer an existential threat a Gible Community Day is something that, to be quite frank, just needs to happen. No votes. No saving Gible for special events. Just a Gible Community Day, plain and simple.EDIT:I've seen a couple of comments about a Gible Community Day somehow "decreasing the value" of Gible.First, I couldn't care less about Shinies. Other people do care about them, though, so I thought I wouldn't include it as a point. If a portion of the community want shiny Gible to remain extremely rare that's a discussion to be had, but that doesn't justify a throwing a baby out with the bathwater response.Second, in the context of a game there is nothing "entitled" about wanting things to be fairer for everyone. Nobody is asking for thousands of Gible to spawn when you pop a free Incense. All that's being requested is a chance to predictability catch some of these Pokémon. Aside from Gible having been featured in T2 raids during GO Fest, there is no predictable way to acquire it. Its heavily RNG based nature isn't proportionate to the amount of times you need to catch one to reap the rewards. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/301RuH3
