"Rant: Stop praising Black 2 for having a hard mode when unlocking it is the most obtuse, nonsensical, and asinine shit ever. It is also literally impossible to unlock on one system."

I feel like people praising this mode have never actually tried unlocking it. I'm going to explain why unlocking this challenge mode is genuinely the most stupid and nonsensical thing ever.First of all they made it version exclusive which is just inherently silly. If you got white 2 you're out of luck and need a friend with black 2 for you to get it.Second of all you need to complete the game which already kinda defeats the purpose of having a challenge mode. In white 2 you unlock easy mode, but considering YOU'VE ALREADY COMPLETED THE GAME ON HARDER DIFFICULTY this is legitimately pointless But whatever you've already completed black 2 ,now you can do hard mode, right?Wrong.You do not unlock hard mode, you unlock a hard mode "key". Keys was a gen 5 mechanic that would send content to another copy of the game/ other version. However keys have to be sent or received from another player in order to be used.So when you unlock hard mode, you literally do not unlock hard mode. You unlock a means of accessing hard mode that has to be sent to another game in order to be used. So you need to have a friend that has black 2 or white 2/ or let's be real you have to buy a copy of the other version with another DS/3DS.So let's recap , too access hard mode you need:-To have completed black 2.-Another copy of black 2/ or a copy of white 2.-2 DSs/3DSs or a friend that has a ds and the games Send the hard mode key over to the second copy of white 2/black 2. If the game doesn't have save data you can play hard mode on this copy.-Delete your save data on black 2 and send the hard mode key over from the second copy/white 2.Congratulations, you have unlocked hard mode. Was it worth it? Even then it's just increased levels/ improved AI.This is the most baffling stupid and mind numblingly tedious way of unlocking a hard mode I have ever seen in any video game. It's like they were trying their hardest to make it inaccessible. Why even include it if it's content 99% of people will never figure out how to access? Not only is it incredibly stupid, the player will have to have spent the money on another copy of the game and own another DS. So it's a huge money sink for no reason either. It's either a huge money sink or you have to a have an extremelyt dedicated friend help you out, which let's be real no one is ever gonna do that in 2020.So yeah whenever you read a comment praising the addition of hard mode in black 2, know that the person typing has never actually tried unlocking it and realized that it's the dumbest shit ever.
