"Read Pokémon Adventures"

I am a massive fan of the Pokémon series. It might be my favorite franchise... ever. One thing even I have to admit though is that the games start to feel really similar when you've been playing them for awhile. I still love the games, but my new favorite piece of Pokémon media is now Adventures, and I've only read the first 3 volumes. It just bleeds creativity and is such a fresh take on Kanto and the Pokémon that live there. Red is also just such an interesting protagonist along with Blue and Green having fulfilling character arcs. It manages to take these outlandish idea's that would never slide in the games or anime, and it just rolls with them. It's also just written and illustrated extremely well. If you're a fan of Pokémon and haven't read Adventures I implore you to, even if you've fallen out of favour with the Pokémon series as a whole, this would be a great jumping on point.
