"Reminder: The freeze bug caused by Melmetal (and Obstagoon) that has been around since preseason is still not fixed"

#PokemonGO: A quick explanation for those that aren't aware of it: there is a bug around caused by two Pokémon that have a particularly heavy 3d model that affects a variety of both low-end and high-end devices; those affected by it experience sudden heavy lag during the starting countdown to the point where the match either starts with having to shield a charge move (if the opponent lead is Melmetal itself or swampert as they are able to reach their charge move quickly) of straight with the second Pokémon (if the opponent lead is a razor leafer or a charmer). Even after the match starts the lag tends to reappear whenever there is a charge move animation and sometimes even triggers the most annoying infinite pokeball glitch. This happens every time the opponent has a Melmetal or an Obstagoon in their team. There used to be a workaround to this bug as buddying a Melmetal used to solve the issue, at the cost of not being able to use the best buddy bonus on another Pokémon; however, since Obstagoon was introduced and manifested the same bug, this is no longer an option. The issue apparently stems from a mishandling of the models of those Pokémon imported from the switch as they have a much higher resolution than the other models have. I have linked below some threads were the issue is explained better.I believe this bug deserves more attention as it gives some player an unfair disadvantage and I've even seen some people suggesting to other players in an older thread (since deleted) to use a charmer followed by a Melmetal in order to guarantee some wins.https://ift.tt/3arMlvs via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/3498j58
