"The best way to fix megas is to have supplemental evolves cost candy (or be able to convert candy to energy). This would revive stale spawns and fix the stale resource issues of the end game. Moreover, this strategy is working in other mobile games."
#PokemonGO: The primary issue with mega raid feature is it's a new resource that you perminantly spend for a temporary feature.A lot of mobile games have moved toward temporary boosts as a solution to end game staleness. As a comparitive analysis, look at super troops in Clash of Clans. You can spend dark elixir on a week long power up to a particular troop when otherwise, you have nothing to spend dark elixir on.However, the difference is and they key issue with Pokemon Go is that the mega energy resource is brand new and can only be farmed for a limited time. So the foundation of temporary boosts that work so well in other games is completely corrupted. The thing is, Pokemon Go does have a stale resource: candy! Many end game players are sitting on thousands of nearly every early gen candy type and have no practical use for them. This is the exact kind of stale resource that would make those candy, and therefore spawns, engaging again. The effects would be would be players start getting excited about Bulbasaur spawns again, and start planning to pinap every Charmander on community day.It is true, here is no explicit money to be made. But Naintic has said in interviews they want a sustainable game for years and years to come, and fixing stale resources and maintaining overall player engagement are two cornerstones on how you do that. So this is absolutely in line with Niantic's goals. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/32xUdrL
