"Anyone else hate the Johto level curve?"

I grew up playing G/S/C and I absolutely loved HG/SS. However, the main thing that bothered me was that my Pokemon were barely in the 40s level-wise when it came time to challenge the E4. I know that a large part of this is because there's an entire Kanto region to explore after the E4, but I personally would've preferred more Johto and less Kanto. I would have liked to explore and spend time in the Johto region more. It feels like I barely got to spend time with my team before challenging the E4.On the other side of it, it does make the game a bit more challenging which is fun. I love ROM hacks mainly due to the increased difficulty. Another POV is that some people have told me that the game isn't meant to be played with 6 Pokemon which I always do. Thus, the limited EXP in Johto gets spread out very thinly. But still, I hate only having a Dragonair by the time I'm fighting the E4. :( via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3bsUiRG
