"My first Pokémon game, soul silver, has died"

My copy of soul silver which I have gotten on launch with the pokewalker bundle has finally died and my childhood save file is Gone, Can I please get a F to pay respects?(Side note, can one download the rom on the internet to and edit the save file and give Pokémon? Maybe possible to rebuild my childhood save file? I don’t support piracy or cheating but I am Willing to make an Exception.)FAlso I ordered a new copy lol though I should add this.
