"What would Pokemon going back to its ropts look like?"
A lot of people have been asking for a Breath of the Wild style Pokemon game and what stuck out to me was how that game was a modern interpretation of the original legend of Zelda. It got me wondering what a design philosophy inspired by RBY would look like.• Non-linearity: it's crazy to me that the first games were so open that you can obtain over 100 pokemon before the second badge. Wild areas could be a great way of connecting towns in a non-linear fashion.• Unintrusive story: team rocket plays such a minor role in the story that you never feel like the story of you trying to become the champion is being hijacked by some save the world plot. Instead of having to stop Armageddon before the 8th badge, having a smaller scale main plot with more side stories would be cool.• More optional and well integrated legendaries: the modern games (gen 6 going forward) have been very bad with legendary distribution. Either there aren't many like in XY or they can only be found via wormholes like in ORAS and USUM. Mewtwo and the legendary birds felt like they belonged in the world and I hope we see more legendary encounters like that. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3pzjVXl
