"Just played my first Pokemon game (Pokemon Silver) since I played Red/Blue as a kid knowing nothing about the game except it was the sequel. Seriously, this is one of the best games I've ever played."
Context: I played Pokemon Red when I was a child. When I turned 11, I was forced by my parents to throw away all of my Pokemon stuff (cards, games, etc) and the tv show was treated like watching a porno movie due to religious reasons and the private school I went to being. I never got into Gen 2 in the slightest because of it.I've had a bit of a rough streak the last few weeks and decided "Screw it, let's give it a go." All I can say is WOW. This is everything I ever wanted as a kid. And the post game in Kanto. Wtf? How did I not know this? I just beat the Elite Four and this is easily in my top 10 games and I haven't even gotten to explore what is essentially the best part of my childhood 3 years in the future. I'm now looking forward to going up to the current generation and starting to really get into Pokemon 20 years later. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3sNBgMN
