"What are your guys opinions on an unwinnable battle, for the sake of a more interesting plot twist?"
Pokémon is no stranger to doing plot twists, they did this since the first game when after the Elite 4 there was a final challenge to overcome, your rival as the champion. And they keep doing that on the next generations for a wide range of success, sometimes is a great twist such as Volo at the end of the post game of Legends Arceus and the whole finale of Black and White, alright ones like Lusamime in Sun and Moon, and bad ones like the reveal that Lysandre in X and Y as well as Chairman Rose in Sword and Shield are the main bad guys of thier respective games. But what if in a new generation they make so that you lose the "final" confrontation with the villain so he can succeed on his plan, that for sake of argument is just take over the region, nothing dumb like half the evil teams plans. Game Freak can easily do this by making the Pokémon of the villain not take damage thanks to an evil machine/artifact and/or legendary Pokémon powers. Then after your loss, the gym badges you collected dissappear and need to re-conquer the region by re-fighting the gyms again and defining the admins on control of the set gyms and region. After that you refight the main bad guy in a epic confrontation and that working as the champion battle for the main game. What do you guys think? Is worth it to force you lose to make a plot where the villains win for a change or there is another way to do it? Like you reach the villain to late and he already completed his plan. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/biAfZNS
