"Why do people assume picnics will be an outright day care replacement?"

I know we'll be able to get eggs through picnics somehow, but people are talking about it as though it'll be the primary, if not only method for obtaining eggs in these games.Where is the source of this information? I'd understand if there was something in one of the trailers, or on the website, or in some other obscure bit of pre-release promotion material, but as far as I've seen they haven't said this at all.
