"It's too early to announce Gen 5 remakes."

One of the things that I've been seeing a lot recently in terms of Pokémon news is the rumored Gen 5 remakes, which has been backed by various credible leakers. Now, there have some mixed reactions to these rumors: other express support for those supposed gen 5 remakes, others have concerns that the remakes could turn out similarly to the divisive Gen 4 remakes and think that's it's too early to announce them.I'm myself am in the latter camp, though I'm mostly concern about it's being too early to began work on them. With the exception of the Kanto games, most remakes happen in an even-numbered generation (Gen 2 remakes in Gen 4, Gen 3 remakes in Gen 6, and Gen 4 in Gen 8), with my expectations being that Gen 5 happening in Gen 10 years later. However, there's been a lot rumors that points towards the Gen 5 remakes happening earlier in Gen 9, which in my eyes goes against the natural order of how Pokémon games are released.The two past odd-number gens, Gen 5 and Gen 7, has given us something expand upon their base games; Gen 5 has the sequels to Black and White; and Gen 7 has the updated re-release of Sun and Moon. Gen 7 has also introduced us to the Let's Go games, reimagining of older generations that already have a traditional remake, which I could see happening more in the odd-number gens moving forward as DLCs has largely replaces the need for updated re-releases.With that said, I was one of the folks that was more or less expecting the next games after Scarlet and Violet to be the Gen 2 Let's Go games and perhaps a Legends games based around Johto. Heck, perhaps we'll get to see some of the infamous scrapped mons from Gen 2 make a return in the Legends Johto games such as the fire seal or the black cat.However, like I'd say, the recent buzz around Gen 5 remakes has been largely just rumors and we likely don't have to wait long until the Pokémon Direct next week.Who knows?Maybe the Gen 5 remakes get announce?Maybe the Gen 2 Let's Go and Legends games will get announced?Maybe neither get announced and we just get more information on the SV DLC? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/1PLQrqg
