"Gym was moved today across town with defending Pokémon and gym badge level retained"

#PokemonGO: A local comedy club in downtown had a gym associated and named after it. The club moved to a new location about 6 months ago but the gym remained. Today, while walking past, there were 5 defenders in the gym and at 1 PM central time I went to throw in a Pokémon. The game gave an error code, which I do not remember, and locked up. When I restarted, the gym was gone! All other stops and gyms nearby remained. I restarted the app twice more but the gym was gone. I assumed it had been removed because the comedy club the gym was named after was gone.I notified the members of the raid group I belong to and some began searching for new gyms (one appeared in the same cell of the missing gym). One member was near where the comedy club had moved to, approximately 5 miles across town, and saw that there was a gym associated with the club’s new location. It had not been there the previous evening. The gym had the identical name and image as the old one and based on a screenshot he took contained the same five defending Pokémon with the same degree of loss motivation as the “old” gym I had just tried to drop into. Also, interacting with the gym by two separate trainers revealed that their gym badges had not reset, they were both still gold on the gym.Has moving a gym a significant distance without 1) returning the defending Pokémon and 2) not resetting the gym badge been reported before? via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2mTQsZg
