"Possible Easter Egg - Pokemon Stadium 64?"

#PokemonGO: This just dawned on me. Has anyone looked into the original Pokemon Stadium nick name tricks. I remember as a kid you could name your Pokemon a certain name in the game boy (Blue version, of course) game and when you import them into Pokemon Stadium you get a different color variation of the Pokemon. It's very possible my memory is diluted by time though, just saying possible Easter Egg. Nothing huge, I remember a darker green for Scyther and a different blue for Blastoise.
