"[X-Post from /r/pokemongo] Combat is just dodge2win."

#PokemonGO: source: http://ift.tt/29GlCLo previous video was a bit short and I picked an unfortunate pokemon for demonstration purposes, see discussion. So here we go, a longer fight that shows how to attack any gym without even taking damage:https://youtu.be/HqSJhH6mVTQWhat this means: the only competitive gameplay aspect right now is not actually competitive, since the attacker has 100% win chance when using dodge. When you have only 1/3rd of the opponent's CP, it usually is enough to beat him in <99 seconds. This means:having strong pokemon is borderline useless.putting strong defenders in gyms doesn't matter.types do only matter if your attacking pokemon is FAR weaker than the defender.potions/revive are useless once you get the hang of dodging.players who started early may have higher CP pokemon, but again: doesn't matter really.an update to the combat mechanics is urgently needed, since this renders most of the game pointless, except the raw catching of pokemon. If you're still new to the game: you may also have a look at my blogpost for some tipps/tricks.And finally: yes, the game runs very smooth, I use an iPhone 6s+. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/29E9Y2W
