"Egg testing post aug/20 patch. (Still the same)"
#PokemonGO: I've took a bike down the a straight country road to test the theory of the recent changes to the egg hatching mechanic. With phone mounted on the bike and overlays showing my speed and distance traveled. I began the test with a 10KM egg in mid distance. As /u/Beastamer pointed out, the pre-patch speed was 10.5 KPH. My first test was the control of that speed. Due to human error, my GPS speed overlay showed an average speed of 10KPH (ranging from 9 to 11 KM) for the 1Km ride. pokemong article posted, @PokemonGoNews confirmed, and /u/Gabbe95 suggested that the new speed is around 20MPH (via google convert 32.1869 KPH). As a round number and keeping it with the metric system(cuz science) I rounded my test speed to 15KPH (9.32057MPH). Due to human error, I avg around 15 KPH (Ranging from 14 to 16) for 1Km ride. The result was inconclusive.images of tests:http://ift.tt/2ba8X6V Start of egg for 10KPH for 1 KM ridehttp://imgur.com/tMoKdW3 end of 10KPH ridehttp://imgur.com/0xXmLJE start of egg for 15KPH for 1 KM ridehttp://imgur.com/FawqLO9 end of 15KPH/u/mdnpascual also done his own independent research. which you can find in this thread.I done one run of each speed. because as a human, it will only add more errors and since Beastamer done most of the data gathering for the speed of 10.5KPH, there was no need to complete the tests again. other errors was made in between the two runs. one was running out of road, the other was exiting out of the Pokemon go app. Both test also had a "cooldown" period of 5min, with the second test waiting 5 min longer wait to allow servers extra time to update the egg on the client side. For more precise testing, a bot is required. which I do not have the time nor the urge to fabricate an account for testing. Due to overlays being a "gray area" I will not disclose my in game name. The app i was using for the test is Ulysse SpeedometerTL;DR: Egg speeds did not change. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ba88ej
