"Stardust scaling: We need it"

#PokemonGO: I want to throw my opinion out here on this: I think the stardust system is in desperate need of adjustment. I know that the devs have WAY more on their minds right now but this is part of the game that I think is not broken functionally, but rather fundamentally. The way stardust scaling works right now is that you get 100 dust for each Pokemon you catch. You get 3 candy for each as well with an option of a 4th on transfer. While I think the system could work very well, and to an extent does, I think it's wrong that basically every Pokemon regardless of prestige or strength yeilds the exact same exp, dust, and candy. This idea is absurd. Imagine if in the main series games every Pokemon you defeated yielded the same exp. No, I propose a system of scaled dust and candy.Allow an analogy: think of it like your two house legislature in the US. Let's start with the Senate. It's the more prestigious of the two houses as each state gets two representatives. Each state is on an equal playing field. This is the candy part of the training equation. Each mon is worth the same amount of candy, therefore making all captures important. Now we go to the House of Representatives. Each state gets a certain number of representatives based on the population of the state. Larger states like Texas and California will get more representatives than a state like Rhode Island or Maine. This is the stardust part of the training equation. Beyond the candy that makes every capture valuable it also makes catching Pokemon that are harder to catch (potentially that you already have at a higher level) still worth it. Last night I gave up on catching a couple higher level pokes because they were taking too many balls to catch, and in the end I didn't need the candy that bad, and the stardust output wasn't going to be worth it. A simple scaling of dust yielded for pokes instead of a blanket 100 each would greatly increase the significance of all encounters. A 1000cp dragonite should give me more dust than a 10cp rattata, and I think the fix is necessary and honestly pretty simple. Plus with the increased stardust need for powering up per level you should be able to get more dust from higher cp pokes. It would compare better to the main series as there you get higher level Pokemon, and later you face higher level Pokemon in the wild that yield more exp. This is how dust should work too.Lemme know what you think. Been a while since I've posted my opinion on TSR.A.B.TL;DR Stardust needs to be scaled to give more for stronger/harder to catch/rarer pokes in order to make it worth catching something more difficult that you otherwise might not need the candy for. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aw5vDc
