"PSA: Don't go chasing Ivysaurs"

#PokemonGO: I've already read about the Ivysaur glitch that prevents the game from displaying Pokemon models, but I haven't seen it mentioned related to gyms or catching wild ones yet. What I've ran into breaks the game to a point I'm currently unable to play. Here is my experience: I walked to a nearby gym to take it over so I could train some XP with my Bubblestrat style setup. I approached the gym and nearby an Ivysaur popped up. Well it didn't actually display, but I've mapped the spawns and times in my area so I know that is where it spawned. It also prevented the Magikarp nearby from appearing and I was unable to select it to try and catch it. I restarted my app outside of range of the Ivysaur. Magikarp was still shrouded in invisibility since Ivysaur was on my nearby list. I decided I'd try to take the gym. The defending pokemon and my attacking pokemon did not display a model, however it did display the yellow flash and the attack animation so I was successfully able to claim the gym. After the Ivysaur despawned I was able to catch the Magikarp too. I then put my 10CP magikarp in the gym and began to knock it senseless in the pursuit of precious XP. Not five minutes after I start some fellow Instinct players show up to toss their pokemon in. While it stopped my XP grind I wasn't too mad. That was until I didn't see what was the gym leader. Ivysaur. Now anytime I open my app within vision range of that gym no pokemon at all display for me. This includes all instances my inventory, in gyms, and in the wild. I cant even train at the gym anymore. I can defeat the first two Invisible pokemon but as soon as it is Ivysuar's turn my app crashes. I guess I'm taking a break from pokemon until someone without the glitch clears that gym out or they fix it.They few screens I grabbed: http://ift.tt/2ceKVFl: Ivysaur makes all pokemon models disappear regardless of where it shows up.
