"What Pokémon have you always loved even though they aren't actually that useful/powerful?"

You know, the ones with the cool design or clever concept that really click with you, but that never lives up to your expectations in an actual battle because of crappy moves or stats?Mine would probably be the Nidoran male family, particularly Nidorino for some reason. Just love that grumpy pink poison spike-bunny-rhino.But... poison has always been lackluster, especially in gen 1 where you're begging for a OHKO from a psychic, and 90% of bug and grass types are half poison anyway.My wife and I just fired up the original Red & Blue (last played at least 16 years ago) and I'm keen on getting a Nidoking in my final team, even though I know there are a ton of others that would outperform him.So who do you love, even though you know they kind of suck?edit Haha, was not expecting this to be a 200+ comment affair. Great to see so many people harbour secret loves for Pokémon that the world has rejected.Kingler seems to be a favourite, definitely going to second that.Couple of other ones:Gengar - looks awesome and I love the ghost type, but in gen 1 he never amounted to much because they borked the type advantage against psychic, and made him half poison to boot. Anyone know if he got better with later gens? Mega now right?The Ludicolo line - In the worst tactical decision I've ever made, I even kept him over Kyogre. Fell in love with the dumbass-looking Lombre I caught and couldn't bring myself to part with him, even when it became apparent he was by far my weakest team member even with his final evolution.
