"A fresh way to look at nests and biomes"

#PokemonGO: Dear travelers,I am fascinated by spawn mechanisms and most of all by the distribution of species. I've created visualizations of spawn patterns from past data and thought I'd share them with you.I used a large data set of about 11000 spawnpoints and 200 spawns per spawnpoint and selected all species with at least 15% freqency on that spawnpoint. I fed the data into tableau and you can see the results here. On most spawnpoints you will see several species on top of each other. To look at nests and their distribution, it is recommended to hide weedle, pidgey, rattata, spearow, zubat and drowsee, but I left them in because their distribution is interesting as well, e.g. you normally don't see drowsee combined with rattata or pidgey. It is also helpful to use the highlight function at the bottom right to look at the distribution of one species only.Era 4 (before the 4th - most recent - migration):http://ift.tt/2dS3SOP area from era 3 (before the 3rd migration):http://ift.tt/2d95KVU: the awesome icons are from http://ift.tt/2d5QzvF thanks to /u/gerwitz. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2dRWm6v
