"Buddy distance is capped in a fluid 24h window"

#PokemonGO: During the Halloween event, many of us have reached the maximum daily walking distances with our buddies (40 km). While many have now becoming aware of this limit, it seemed like there was no clear answer to the exact details of this limit, so I've done some testing and here are my results. The 24h limit is fluid and not fixed, e.g. if you walk 40km from 3pm to 11pm, you are first able to register new distance after 3pm the next day. There is no warning or information about hitting the limit, if you keep going the counter will just reset down to the last allowed distance, e.g. your body needs 1.25km of walking for a candy, upon hitting 41.25km, it will reset to 40km, and you will not gain a candy. It is possible to "buffer" extra km as the distance is firstly registrered at completion of the one-candy reward, e.g. your body needs 5km of walking, you can walk it up to 44.9km, quit the game, and when your fluid 24h windows allow, you can log in, walk 0.1km and you will be rewarded all 5km.The Halloween event is soon coming to an end, but for future events, a little bit of planning is needed, so you don't walk 25km in the evening of a Saturday, and think you can walk 40km starting from the morning of Sunday. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2flK245
