"I believe Niantic rushed the release of Pokemon GO to get a strong summer playerbase."

#PokemonGO: I'm sure you've noticed the cold is keeping the trainers inside (that and all that tracker drama), and I'm sure Niantic was afraid of losing players simply because it is too damn cold to play. They had to get a strong release right after school let out in the summer to maximize on the initial buzz. This very likely meant pushing out a game that wasn't fully bug-tested, and/or had lots of unfinished features still stuck in development or testing that got added later. The game as it stands now works OK, minus the removed tracker, but it still feels pretty bare-bones in terms of content. Gyms are the only reason to train up Pokemon. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2ejPT8R
