"Things I learned from playing MMO RPGs and how I can apply it to Pokemon Go"

#PokemonGO: I enjoy playing MMO RPGs usually free to play and some buy to play. I started from Ragnarok online and the most recent one is Guildwars 2, I've listed below some of the things I learned that others might find useful.1.) Love the grind - POGO is grind heavy, its always better not to over pressure yourself in leveling up, just enjoy the game and set realistic and healthy goals. It will help you avoid burnouts.2.) The META can change - Developers will continously introduce changes in the game wether it be rebalances, nerfs or buffs, or addition of new aspecs of the game. For Pogo, its better to hold on to the now bad moveset pokemons or ready high IV bases because they maybe formidable players in the future.3.) Anticipate and speculate on changes - always think ahead and try to anticipate the possible changes to the game. Currently, pokemons that specializes on special attacks are weak in the game but its highly possible that they will get a buff in the future. I would also ready High IV magmars and electabuzz in anticipation of the Gen 3.4.) Make friends - It adds to the whole experience and it also widdens your network and knowledge of the game. Helping noobs is also a good experience it creates a more desirable community for everyone.5.) Control your spending - some may feel that financial investment is important, learn how you can control your spending. Make limits and manage your finances well.6.) Play safe - apps or third party programs can add fun but be extra careful not to get your account at risk.7.) Stay Healthy - do not neglect hygene and nutriotion. You cannnot play if your sick and no one will want to play with you if you stink.8.) Balanced gaming - do not neglect your responsibilities and DO NOT MAKE GAMING A PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE. Games are highly addicitive and time consuming, try to maintain a balance, specially if you have responsibilites like school, a job, or maintaining good relationship with your family.9.) Set a personal end game - MMO's are designed for players to keep on playing and possibly stay hooked for years. Creat your own end game wether to retire or stay casual. It can be like pokedex completion or hiting 30 or completion of a full set offensive and defensive team.I hope this helps, sorry for the long post. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2dsMW31
