"Items per Poke Stop Analysis - Changes per Level"

#PokemonGO: Hey Everyone, 1st post to reddit so hopefully this works out.So after the first couple of weeks playing I noticed that I kept running out of Pokeballs.Theory: I had a hunch that at lower levels pokestops would provide more balls, but as I leveled up more items were introduced like potion types, revives ect. So if the amount of total items stayed the same, then # of pokeballs lowered.Test: Somehow I convinced myself to start recording the items received at level 17 and just kept going. After 3+ months, here are some of my results:Trainer levelAVG TL BallsStopsAVG % Balls/ItemAVG # PBAVG # GBAVG # UBAvg # Raz172.62976%2.00.60.00.24192.57376%2.10.40.00.22202.522175%1.90.40.10.23212.414372%1.90.40.10.20222.327669%1.80.40.10.21232.346268%1.80.40.10.28242.324966%1.80.30.10.26252.014460%1.60.30.10.31Hopefully this table worked out. I have a google doc I might share later as the graphs really show the story.Key Takeaways: Turns out my theory was correct. As i leveled the average amount of total balls received went from 2.6 per stop to 2.0.PB lowered and GB lowered and UB just barely rose. Raspberries slightly increased with a notable increase in the last 2-3 weeks. This is not seen as well on the table above but I have this data broken out by days as well. Maybe i'll post the chart later. After thoughts: I understand Niantic has to make money, but this drastic drop in balls per stop is disappointing. If we are getting 2 balls per stop, I don't know for sure but i'm pretty sure it is taking me 2-3 balls (at least) per catch on average, not including run aways and what not, but that means I have to hit pokestops more often than catching a mon. That is pretty lame when you think about it?My house is in a pretty rural area, but I work in the city so I can hit a healthy number of stops each day, but only if I really try. I also take long walks downtown on lunch breaks occasionally to stock up on balls since i'm always running out. I had to buy bag space to make this strategy work. (800 slots)I can catch mons walking around the office on breaks but I feel like if something doesn't change, Winter is going to finish off PoGo in the top half of the US. "Winter is coming" and walking around in sub zero temps and having to have a gloveless hand out holding your phone to get tops (no i'm not going to buy a stupid watch to do what I can already do with a phone)I enjoy the game but I see the end is near. My addictive personalty stays with games like this longer than I should but i'm still hopefully it will get some people back playing again. I have a lot more person thoughts on where they messed up with spawn points but i'll leave that for another post.Help wanted: Let me know what you think of this analysis. If someone else is significantly lower than level 17 and wants to collect the same data, i'd love to add it to my table to share. Reach out to me and I can either duplicate my google spreadsheet or you just summarize it similar to how I did and i'll combine. (I did not use any apps to record this data, just used the trainer log and recorded results when i got home, often screen capturing the log since they do not give you much history - something I wish they would expand)Thanks everyone! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2eYpi0K
