"No one is around when I start leveling gym, then when I hit 49999, people park all around me"

#PokemonGO: It never fails to amaze me when I level a gym. At first, no one is around, when I am at 49999 and need one more fight, cars arrive and park all around me. I usually level gym on the way home from work (around midnight). I just exit fight and it's a waiting game. Niantic, please have a slot so I can pre insert my Pokémon, once I level up the gym, the pre selected Pokémon should automatically be inserted.
