"The last gym update has killed my/our end game..."

#PokemonGO: The last few weeks:We (Team Instinct) managed to gather up to 10 dedicated players in our neighborhood to build up and defend gyms in our area in a city that is about 80% Team Mystic. Up until the gym update we managed to paint 10 out of 13 high level gyms in our neighborhood in yellow. That was all thanks to a lot of coordination and stamina from each of us.After the gym updateAll high level gyms are gone. Nobody bothers to train up gyms anymore regardless of the color.About meI'm a competetive lvl 31 player who prefers fighting gyms over completing the dex (though im almost done with that too). Training gyms and holding our turf was the only enjoyable thing in this game for me. Especially the social aspect of gathering and having an objective was fun. Now it's just back to solo playing again.So for me the results of the update are the following.Prosweaker players can easily cash in 10-30 coins daily againless reason to friendly killConstotally killed "hardcore" playenforces solo play instead of group activityenforces use of bubble strat againpowering up pkmn with defensive movesets seems like a waste nowI truly hope that this is only the first step in "balancing" the game because as it stands, the gym game is an absolute disaster. Right now everyone is just placing trash pkmn into gyms to cash in their coins. That is literally all interaction there is at this point.Side note: I do still claim 100 coins a day from harder to reach gyms.
