"If a return to Kanto happens there should be more story or lore built around the legendary birds"

One thing that always bothered me about the legendary birds of Kanto is that they have almost no lore or story to them other than them having Lugia as their master. Right now they are just rare once-per-game strong legendary Pokemon with almost no story behind them. Every other trio has had some story put on them, the beasts were resurrected by Ho-Oh and Eusine seeks to catch Suicune, the regis were created by Regigigas in Sinnoh to drag continents around and in people's fear of them they were imprisoned in tombs in Hoenn, the lake guardians represent human emotions and team galactic tried to capture them, the lake guardians also help the player in the distortion world, the forces of nature have alternate forms and have a shrine built where people worship them. Notice a theme here, every other trio has had some sort of mention by NPCs or has actually played a role in the plot, the birds have nothing, I cant remember an NPC ever mentioning the birds existing in the games ever in the main series, and Lugia is only ever mentioned as their master in spinnoff and side games where the birds have been somewhat relevant like mystery dungeon and XD, right now the birds are boring and need to be better.Many people want a return to Kanto as the next game and that would be cool, but I cant think of what the story would be, other than continuing Lillie's plot, and team rocket returning would be a boring rehash of GSC's story so we would need a new villainous team, or teams. PokemonGo has three the three teams with their mascot being a legendary bird, I don't think Game freak would actually use these teams in a main series game and they don't actually add anything to the bird's lore, but it should be noted that they exist.They could do some sort of thing like Nebby and add a baby version of he birds for plot reasons, but we need the birds to have more to them other than "hey we exist and are strong" via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2i8suGl
