"Is Squirtle / Blastoise even worth pursing during the upcoming event?"

#PokemonGO: During the holiday event our items (ultra, berries) will obviously be limited. Starters are tough to catch as is.So, should we just focus our resources on bulbasaur and maybe charmander ?My reasoning :Obviously Venusaur is worth pursing. I think he is the best grass Pokemon in the game. At worse he is second behind Exeggutor. You need a good grass Pokemon to knock out all the Vaporeons .Charizard is 2nd / 3rd best fire pokemon. Arcanine is best. Then Charizard and Flareon fight for 2 / 3. Charizard might come in handy against fighting types with his fast move wing attack, but otherwise arcanine will do everything a charizard can do.Blastoise is 4th - 6th best water pokemon. Vaporeon and gyarados are top two. Omaster is probably third by a fair margin with his crazy good defense. Then Blastoise, Tentacruel, and Poliwrath fight out for 4-6.Blastoise has really poor charge moves. Ice beam and flash cannon are less than 20 DPS. All charge moves for Charizard and Venusaur are 20 +.Obviously, if you dont have a Blastoise then get one.
