"Observation: All State Parks and National Parks marked on Maps I have visited have many new spawns, unmarked natural areas have no change."

#PokemonGO: While it is still early days, it is possible that I have observed a strong link with the recent spawn changes described by niantic here.Every National Park and State Forest that is marked on both Open Street Map and Google Maps that I have briefly visited today has seen a significant change in spawns, however, areas that are not marked as state parks or national parks have seen no significant change outside of what could be considered standard spawn rotations. It is important to clarify that this data set is very limited, and that I am not sure if Google Maps or OSM specifically contributes to the creation of these new spawn points. None the less, I consider this a very interesting development. All data was collected on the Central Coast of NSWToday I have visited the following:3 State Forests3 National Parks2 Crown land sites (only marked as wooded areas on google maps and open street map)Edit: To clarify - the two crown land sites were chosen specifically because of the presence of frequently used and maintained hiking trails and other features that would commonly be seen in national and state parks, despite their lack of such status.Description of each location before and after the change:State Forest A:Stops: 4 Pokestops, 1 GymSpawn History: Nothing at launch until nearby tracker, spawns occured around stops after tracker change, today prolific spawns appear along all trails and roads.State Forest B:Stops: 1 Pokestop, 0 GymsSpawn History: Single spawn at entry gate at launch, spawns occurred around the pokestop stop after tracker change, today prolific spawns appear along all trails and roads, even in deeper parts of the forest.State Forest C:Stops: 0 Pokestops, 0 GymsSpawn History: Nothing at launch until nearby tracker, today prolific spawns appear everywhere, even some that might have been off trail.National Park A:Stops: at least 4 Pokestops, at least 1 GymSpawn History: Some spawns at launch, mostly along the ocean and in car parks, did not visit after tracker change, prolific spawns across entire park after recent change.National Park B:Stops: at least 2 Pokestops, at least 2 GymsSpawn History: Limited spawns at launch, mostly along the ocean and in car parks, spawns occured around the pokestop stop after tracker change, prolific spawns on trail heads and at car parks after recent change.National Park C:Stops: Scattered Pokestops (not sure how many, At least 2 Gyms)Spawn History: Scattered spawns at trail heads, not visited after tracker update, increase in scattered spawns, however some areas are still deadzones.Unmapped Site A:Stops: In view at a rest area, but inaccessible due to swampland and fence.Spawn History: Two spawns at gate, near road, no change.Unmapped Site B:Stops: NilSpawn History: Nothing, no changes. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2gLjmFy
