"Our impact on OSM, might be bad"

#PokemonGO: Hello there trainers. As most here know there are theories about niantic using data from OSM in some way to place spawns/nests.Wether the correlation is coincidence or they are indeed using OSM is not the matter here. What i wanted to share and make aware here is that the guys at OSM build the map by their own as a community very much like we fill the nest atlas her one the silph road. Now the good people at OSM are on alert since like myself many new users flooded there sight and some are even putting knowingly false information now on the map in hoping to benefit from it.I myself added the footpath from the street to my door :D Now even that was a bit frowned upon but still kinda grey OK... But I also changed quite a few "paths" to "footpaths" thinking "whats the difference?" since footpaths were discovered as pokemon rich.Problem is there is quite the difference since vehicles like bicycles are allowed on paths but not on footpaths... like so : http://ift.tt/2hPlopt by changing like 50 paths or more in my vicinity I wronged the people that had put their effort and experience of the area in there.I think i mostly have my bad changes undone now I hope, but to further redeem myself I wanted to share the problem and hope to stop the rape of OSM.I was contacted by users and what seems to be moderators of the site already so they are an active community aware of what is going on.Thanks for readingTL;DR Editing OSM for Pogo when having no idea how it works is not good. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2iGfXNz
