"Pokemon Go changed my running behavior"

#PokemonGO: Pogo was and still is a game changer for me when it comes to running. I'm a competitive runner who runs daily but since the game is out, things have changed for me when it comes to organizing my runs. Then, I was looking for interesting new trail routes, usually staying away from the city and so on. Now, I plan my runs with OSM / Ingress - I look for organized routes around nests, biomes, and pokestops. I also stop to attack some low-level arenas in some areas that are not easily accesible now, even though it's freezing cold, in the hopes to keep that spot for some time. It's crazy when I think how this game changed my behavior. I even use it on my tempo runs and use incense at some very rural places, in favor of a few pokemons, neglecting new training records or good splits which was then very important to me. But ultimately, I also improved in my running times even though instead of just enjoying nature, or listening to music while running - my attention is mostly pokemon go now. To add all of that, I even bought a new phone to smoothly play that game, and I even twisted my ankle on a curb, because I was just staring at the phone. Did this game also change your behavior towards running or other sports? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ibtpWF
