"[CP Potential] Introducing a New Way to evaluate Pokemons."


#PokemonGO: Hello all.As you all know, IV's are an important thing in the current Gym Meta Game, where the highest CP is placed above, thus, lasts longer.Here is an example where IV's are very important in a Gym and determine if you are Bottom, or #2:http://ift.tt/2isbURv variance of 2 stats (~4.3 %) in IV's can cause around 10-25 CP difference on a Dragonite/Gyarados etc... So in this gym, 1 or 2 extra stats would guarantee you a better position.This is where a new variable comes in, CP PotentialIndividual values have different weights towards the CP of a pokemon.In my humble opinion, people overestimate the importance of IV's %.Most people just name their Pokemons : Dragonite91 referencing it's IV's %.However, I'm here to explain you why I think this is wrong in the current Meta:Let's look at these 2 Snorlaxs:Snorlax 1 has 96% IV's (13/15/15)Snorlax 2 has 89% IV's (15/13/12)Now Let's Look at Their CP if powered up to level 35.5:Snorlax 1 (96%) will have 3108CPSnorlax 2 (89%) will have 3110 CPIf we compare this to a 100% IV's (and thus 100% CP Potential):Snorlax 3 (100%) at level 35.5 has 3139 CPWe can see that both snorlax actually have similar CP Potential, 99%.Snorlax 1 = (99.01% CP Pot.)Snorlax 2= (99.07% CP Pot.)This difference is very very little in this case, but it easily mistakes people that "don't power up pokemons under 95%" and gives an impression that it is better to power the 96% for higher CP. I'm not saying that a 96% Snorlax is worse than a 89%, the purpose of this suggestion is to start using a new variable to "rank" your pokemons, specially if you are into Gyms, CP Potential is way more important than IV's themselves.But afterall how does it work?Alright, let's calculate the IV for one pokemon on Pokeassistant for example:Dragonite, 2987 CP, 140HP, 6000 Dust, Deffense strongest Feature.There are 2 possible combinations:31.5 9 / 11 / 7 60.0%32.5 6 / 10 / 6 48.9%I know he is level 31.5 and not 32.5, so he has 9/11/7.If we scroll down on pokeassistant this is what we get: http://ift.tt/2j7j7H2 pokemon has 2987CP and a 100% dragonite, at the same level would have 3146 CP.( 2987 / 3146 ) x 100 = 94.95%. This implies that my pokemon is 5.05% worse than a 100% IV one and will always have less 159CP.The Purpose of this Post is:1st of all, create a better name for this variable, CP Potential is just lame.2nd, start referencing this variable in most IV Calculators (GoIV already has it I believe).3rd, inform all TSR community that IV's % is an innacurate variable in this game, either use your 15/10/8 or this "variable" that indicates the CP % that your pokemon can have towards a 100% one.Please make suggestions and correct all of my mistakes. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter and if you either agree with me or just don't care.I firmly believe this is a point with a certain importance ingame. Thanks for your attention!   *Edit: *Another common misconception is that Attack IVs will always increase CP more that an equal amount of Defense or HP IVs. A pokemon that already has a high Attack stat, but very low Defense or HP stat will gain more CP from its lower base stat. For example, Dugtrio at level 30 will have 999 CP with a 15 HP IV, but 988 with a 15 Attack IV - assuming 0 for the other 2 IVs.
