"My three days experience with Pokémon Go+"

#PokemonGO: Greetings!I got my Go+ last week and spent the weekend abroad sightseeing and got really fed up with it not picking up my location/spawns/stops and wanted to see how it really performs during my daily routine of Pokémon Go. Hope you find it interesting. (First post, hope I got the formatting right) Routine -100 minutes of commuting to and from the office on public transportation (tram) -Catching spawns at home and at the office -30-40 minutes of gym battles during lunch break (Tearing down enemy lvl10 towers - 1/day) -Small detours to the grocery store, buying lunch...etc *Quite mundane in Winter. Scenarios I wanted to see how much resources I can gain with the App only, using the App and Go+ simultaneously and not touching the App at all, just relying on Go+ I tried to make sure that the 3 consecutive days include the same amount of time spent on the game, route, gym battles..etc, even so there is a small random factor. My target was not total accuracy, but to give a rough idea how multitasking versus passive play compares to my App only progress. ResultsTotal RewardsApp OnlyApp & Go+Go+ OnlyExperience35.76030.89020.564Catches13412481Spins12812657Distance6.9 km13.9 km14 kmStardust16.61518.02411.500Pokéball count+48+2-72Greatball count+19+36+33Ultraball count+20+20+5 Evaluation Being level 36, my primary goal is to maximize Stardust income. Leveling up is just so painfully slow, that I find more motivation collecting it, rather than xp. (That I gain as well on the way though) Comparison of Go+ only and App only scenarios is actually much better than what I have expected. -> Around 60% of the dust and xp compared to the app and a huge Pokéball drain, while got a significant distance gain from GPS drift during the day with the Go+ connected. App only versus App & Go+ results are surprising though. Since the majority of the test includes public transportation, I often travel above the speed limit, while still being able to spin around 50% of the Stops on the way. I thought I would be able to spin and catch the same amount AND catch those extra commons with the Go+ that I would normally disregard focusing on Stops and Uncommon spawns. I could not have been more wrong. Sightings disappear much quicker if not instantly with the Go+ connected when departing from a tram stop. Spawns that it locates won't show up on the map, pretty much just clicking it blindfolded and it takes ages to pick up on Stops even when moving slowly or when stationary. Remarks I observed the same latency with Go+ picking up on spawns and Stops while on foot. After a few minutes of locking the screen, it just goes numb, but when I open up the app and location is updated on my phone screen, it starts vibrating. Battery drain is significantly higher with Bluetooth enabled. I only used the infinite incubator during this test. tl;dr: Go+ is not as bad as expected. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kAEXmo
