"Unable to use razz berries"

#PokemonGO: The following issue only started for me some time today within the last few hours. I have talked with some other local players who are experiencing the same thing. The game for some reason is not letting me use my razz berries. I am wondering how widespread and/or recent this issue might be.When I go to throw one, it does the arc through the air to the pokemon, followed by the white spinning lag wheel in the upper left, and no sparkle animation around the pokemon usually get after using a berry.When I look in my pack again, I still see my berries there to select again to throw and the count has not gone down at all. Normally after using a berry, you won't see them in your pack again until the pokemon breaks out of capture.Trying to throw the berry again gives the same results.I can still throw pokeballs just fine and successfully capture pokemon.Problem occurs whether I try to use the berry before or after the first pokeball throw (and escape).I still get razz berries from pokestops.I tried clearing the cache and data for the app and restarting.
