"Dark Pokemon (Sneasel, Murkrow, Houndour/doom) have increased frequency at night (duh?)"

#PokemonGO: Someone on one my local FB group was wondering if Sneasel spawns more frequently at night...Since I have a huge database of spawns for my area, I decided to check... Sneasel certainly seemed to but it was fairly small sample size (~2400 spawns) So I pulled out ~83K spawns from Sneasel, Murkrow, and the hounds and ordered them by hour (this is central time zone). Thank you Murkrow for being so common.Hour#spawns04431143112456434486443715445164447743998444994095102604112419122460131924141775151773161882172049182395192442203561214385224497234308-edit-/u/cobalt_phantom hypothesized below that misdreavus (ghost type) also spawns more at night so I checked all ghost types (ghastly/haunter/gengar/misdreavus - ~27K spawns) and can conclude NO. ghost types are not increased at night in my area. This also confirms that the above results for dark types is not simply a result of everything spawning more frequently at a specific time of day.Hour#spawns01309113462131031368413905139261456714058139591301101187111037121035131159141175151190161180171071189181981620971211118221328231345After the below test of HootHoot, it occurred to me that it's possible these changes were not retroactively applied to Gen1 pokes. So I reran the query with only Misdreavus and it does appear to be true for Misdreavus as well although sample size is extremely small (~850).Hour#spawns04316125034145755064573886294510221114121613221414151916121710182219122036214622542362/u/Tennex1022 asked about HootHoot based on the main series. I have almost 70K HootHoot spawns recorded and the answer is YES!Hour#spawns0421714350243123431244332543156430474133844029376410156111112712115113121714121515107816889171047181199191185202969214238224318234219new chart - http://ift.tt/2kFqY31 via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2m5pJYb
