"Porygon Biome: A Completely Different System to the Electric Biome?"

#PokemonGO: I am currently sitting down and plotting out the first sets of data that myself and a small team of wonderful Sydney based trainers have gathered, and even before the 24 hour point hits us, I’m already seeing something very interesting. With over 400 Porygon spawns recorded in two locations (Chatswood and Camperdown, Sydney) , I have been unable to match these spawns to a level 14 S2 cell. This is interesting, because the level 14 S2 cell is highly observable with the electric biome – the more data you record, the more apparent it becomes.ObservationsWhat we are seeing instead, especially in the case of the University of Sydney in Camperdown, is that Porygon appears to operate within the bounds of certain mapped areas on a certain map service that isn’t Google Maps, much like a nest will often occur within the bounds of a park or golfcourse. We are also observing some spawn ‘noise’ occurring around these areas, nowhere near as much as within the bounds of the area, but still comparatively elevated.Additionally, it appears that in a similar fashion to the electric biome cell clustering, the Porygon Biome can ‘bump on to' multiple adjacent areas. What’s NextWe will continue to record data. The fact that there is clear Porygon blind spots is very exciting because it gives us a lot of potential for insight. We’re also going to look at electric biome sites that we visited previously because we have seen some conflicting reports – if the electric biome and Porygon biome often share some common features (i.e. industrial areas) it is entirely possible that they are not actually tied together, but rather correlated meaning some electric biomes will share space with potential Porygon spawn points while others might not. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kvqxqn
