"The thing about Z-Moves VS Mega Evolution..."

...Is that one of Pokemon's strongest appeals lies within the creatures themselves. This is why Mega Evolutions were so exciting, and in my opinion a much more successful focal point to generate enthusiasm. Dramatic new designs, re-typings, new abilities, updated stats, and complete alterations in viability led to nearly endless speculation and wishlisting for both fan favorites and obscure 'mons alike. To this very day.I mean. How often do people really talk about what the next Z-Moves should be? How many redundant Top 10 lists or speculative fanart has it spawned? If anything I think Regional variants have been more popular topic, because again, the Pokemon are the main appeal. 'How would this species change based on that environement?' 'How should this Pokemon be re-typed?' 'I wish that non-Kanto Pokemon got Regional variants!'. etc. Similar to Mega Evolutions.Z-Moves are just super attacks. Only a handful are unique to certain species. And 9 times out of 10, Draco can get the same job done as Devastating Drake without wasting an item slot. The Status moves are pretty cool when you can develop a strat for them, but...As this Generation's 'Big New Thing!', it just isn't really that fun. At least not to me.Thoughts? ~EDIT: Liking the mix of opinions in here :] via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2l1Jt09
