"Anyone else super disappointed at the lack of a St. Patrick's Day event?"

#PokemonGO: Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival. [Mike Cronin, Daryl Adair (2002). The Wearing of the Green: A History of St. Patrick's Day. Routledge. p. 242.]They had a good precedent given the recent Valentine's day event. They could have chosen green Pokémon, given that 22 out of the 89 green base colour Pokémon appear in Gen 1 and Gen 2 [http://ift.tt/2mAgI8i, they could have had green common spawns such as Caterpie, Scyther, Bellsprout, Oddish. Rarer spawns could have included evolved forms, such as Metapod or Weepinbell. A good addition with Gen 2 would have been to have slightly increase the spawn rate of Larvitar or changed the spawn biome, to introduce more legitimate Tyranitars into the game.Furthermore, they could have "offset" the Valentine's day bonus of extra time on lures by focusing more on lucky eggs. Rather than giving out free lucky eggs, they could have introduced lucky eggs as a drop item from Pokestops during the event at a nomimal rate, like 2%. This adds to the "luck" factor of the event. In addition, double the stardust during the event instead of focusing on candy or XP, which would be covered better during Easter.TL;DR: Niantic bamboozled us with a mysterious candy comment before a notable holiday. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2nMFW4r
