"Electric biome (1/5 of area) Analysis"

#PokemonGO: TL;DROver 95% of spawns inside the Electric biome are either Magnemite (65%) or Voltorb (30%).Magnemites and Voltorb have +5% spawn rate during night inside the Electric biome. No biome changes since game launchNo nest in the 40 km2 studiedPurposeThe original purpose of this research was to confirm the night/day spawn differences, differentiate biomes, and info about migrations and nests.I considered day time as my local ingame day, from 07:00 to 19:00 local time, but divided the database from 07:30 to 19:30 and 19:30 to 07:30 of the next day.ResultsI will continue the research and update if I find anything relevant.I didn't find anything new regarding day/night spawns, but you can find a table at the end of the post with the breakdown of the most common spawns during both periods of time in two days.I found a total of 1097 spawn points inside a 40 km2, with a spawn rate of 25000 in 24 hours. The Electric biome is 1/5 of the area (8 km2), and 1/5 of the spawns are either Magnemites (65%) or voltorb (30%), for a total of 95% of the spawns in that area. I didn't specifically study the Electric biome alone, so that 95% might vary from 90 to 99%. Also an there is an increased spawn rate of Magnemites and Voltorb during night (47% during day and 52% during night), that might be because of the decrease of Sentret spawns during night, but can't confirm unless I only study that area.I divided the 40 km2 in 5 biomes; electric (Magnemite, Voltorb), residential (Pidgey, Rattata, Sentret, Murkrow, Natu, etc), mountain (Ekans, Growlithe, Mankey, Spinarak, Geodude, etc), forest (Paras, Meowth, Pidgey, Rattata, Snubbull, Eevee, etc), water (Magikarp, Marill, Psyduck, etc)Forest and mountain are almost mixed as one.The Electric biome is inside a residential area, but I found no other correlation whatsoever to its limits. There is a line where it stops and starts the Residential biome. The Forest and Mountain biomes are within a protected natural park, and a residential area that was part of the natural park around 10 years ago. The Water biome is all the beach and port area.I started gathering data a month ago, so I can't prove with it that there hasn't been biome changes in the whole area, but I can personally confirm (not very scientific, but I've walked my town every single day since the game launched) that at least the Electric area haven't changed. My thoughtsThis research only confirms what I expected:This Electric biome is a delimited area with two main species. The next most common species are the ones of the residential area, but below a 5-10%.As a seasonal touristic area, the Electric biome fits well, as in a couple of days, trainers can complete their Depot Agent and Rocker medals. But for the people that live here is a bummer having only those two mons in that large area. This brings me to another thought; As well as others, I keep calling this biome Electric with only two electric mons. Haven't seen any other electric mon apart from their evolutions, but I've seen Jolteon and Mareep in the mountain biome. The below table is divided in two days (2 columns each) and each mon in three rows; total spawns, day and night.Edit: Adding total spawns for both days in the table.PokémonSpawnsPercentageSpawnsPercentageTOTAL25054100%25238100%day118741100%119701100%night131801100%132681100%Magnemite331313,2%329613,1%day157913,3%158413,2%night173413,2%171212,9%Voltorb16406,5%16696,6%day7606,4%7706,4%night8806,7%8996,8%Rattata11854,7%11994,8%day5824,9%5904,9%night6034,6%6094,6%Pidgey11954,8%11804,7%day5654,8%5564,6%night6304,8%6244,7%Ekans10954,4%11034,4%day5224,4%5054,2%night5734,3%5984,5%Sentret8593,4%9183,6%day5414,6%5304,4%night3182,4%3882,9%Murkrow9323,7%9203,6%day3462,9%3853,2%night5864,4%5354,0%Sandshrew7953,2%8233,3%day3723,1%3853,2%night4233,2%4383,3%Snubbull7953,2%7553,0%day4804,0%4503,8%night3152,4%3052,3%Spinarak7132,8%7052,8%day3342,8%3162,6%night3792,9%3892,9%Hoothoot7643,0%7793,1%day2332,0%2151,8%night5314,0%5644,3%Paras6782,7%7042,8%day3262,7%3302,8%night3522,7%3742,8%Natu7413,0%7352,9%day3813,2%3733,1%night3602,7%3622,7%Growlithe5152,1%5622,2%day2562,2%2962,5%night2592,0%2662,0%Mankey4741,9%5032,0%day2311,9%2572,1%night2431,8%2461,9%Geodude4401,8%4641,8%day2011,7%2071,7%night2391,8%2571,9%Magikarp4591,8%4451,8%day2081,8%2161,8%night2511,9%2291,7%Meowth4881,9%4871,9%day1601,3%1761,5%night3282,5%3112,3%Psyduck4751,9%4711,9%day2362,0%2121,8%night2391,8%2592,0%Marill4361,7%4561,8%day2161,8%2191,8%night2201,7%2371,8%Houndour3961,6%4091,6%day1301,1%1521,3%night2662,0%2571,9%Spearow3441,4%3301,3%day1771,5%1641,4%night1671,3%1661,3%Venonat2751,1%2691,1%day1241,0%1401,2%night1511,1%1291,0%Krabby2501,0%2350,9%day1231,0%1151,0%night1271,0%1200,9%Eevee2471,0%2941,2%day1161,0%1421,2%night1311,0%1521,1%Slugma2240,9%2401,0%day1070,9%1100,9%night1170,9%1301,0%Rhyhorn2150,9%2370,9%day1070,9%1231,0%night1080,8%1140,9%Tentacool2130,9%2180,9%day1090,9%1181,0%night1040,8%1000,8%Doduo2020,8%1910,8%day890,7%900,8%night1130,9%1010,8%Totodile2040,8%1800,7%day980,8%950,8%night1060,8%850,6%Goldeen2010,8%1790,7%day1030,9%660,6%night980,7%1130,9%Cubone1800,7%1790,7%day570,5%590,5%night1230,9%1200,9%Sunkern1580,6%1610,6%day990,8%1030,9%night590,4%580,4%1 the number of spawns recorded aren't the same during day and night because of human error; There should be the same number of spawns during the same period of time during day or night. So even if the Spawns column shows more during day/night, please look at the Percentage column to see if it is actually higher. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2nsQMk8
