"Music volume in Pokémon Go"

#PokemonGO: I haven't seen much discussion on this topic, but after switching out of the app and having my ears blasted yet again, I feel the need to talk about it.For those unaware, when you open PoGo any music you have playing will be turned down but not completely off. When you leave the app or put it in the background, the volume returns to where it should be. This has been the behaviour for a couple of months now whereas before it would simply pause your music.I speculate that the reason behind these measures is to encourage people to either listen to audio at a lower volume, or not listen at all. This is a safety measure for the user. However, as it stands I feel that instead of contributing to safety it often can damage the hearing of users.I almost always listen to music when playing the game. Once the app is open, I turn up the volume to a point where i can comfortably hear the song. Any time I absent mindedly leave the app, the volume shoots way up to a painful level. Any time the screen times out the volume shoots up to a painful level. This is not stopping me from listening to my music at a level I'm happy with, it's just damaging my hearing whenever I leave the app. This is a horrible user experience and I'm sure I'm not the only one who experiences it. I hope Niantic does something about it in the future./rant via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ms5CSL
