"A Bigger Threat than Spoofers, Snipers, & Gym Glitches is Coming Our Way."

#PokemonGO: I've been distraught over news articles circulating recently about this game we love. There is a mounting effort by city councils across the country, pressured by homeowners no doubt, to pass ordinances that prohibit augmented reality games. These people want to pressure Niantic into getting permits in order to keep pokestops and gyms in their parks, neighborhoods, etc. There will be a snowball effect to all of their efforts. Once a few cities become successful, others will jump on the bandwagon. In reality, Niantic doesn't have the resources to fight all these battles across the globe alone. Something else needs to happen. As a community we need to organize and apply pressure in a way that gets the attention of these community leaders. If they choose to discriminate against use, the one thing we know how to do best is compete. Right! We understand the digital world better than most. Not only can we make phone calls and send emails, but we can post online reviews of these communities (Facebook, Google Reviews, Trip Advisor, etc.) We can create a "reputation management nightmare" if they continue to attack us. Just sayin'.I would love to hear your ideas about how we could organize as a community to protect the future of this game.Edit: This link is an example of what I'm saying: http://ift.tt/2oM5aBV via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2oMulEo
