"After playing Breath of the Wild, I NEED Pokémon!"

I think we all can agree that the Switch is a pretty fantastic piece of hardware, and BotW is an immaculate game. After playing on the big screen, taking it out of the dock, and exploring the Hyrule that's been created, I feel that the Pokémon game so many people have always wanted is inevitable. For years fans have been beating the drum for a Pokémon MMO. In light of the way that open-world games have evolved and taken over gaming, I think that makes more sense and is what fans really wanted all along. With the evolutionary steps that the mainline Pokémon games have been taking, I don't think it's out of the question, but it's possible that an open-world Pokémon could be an accompaniment to the traditional mainline games.Imagine BotW's world size, freedom, creativity, graphics, bite-size dungeons, lakes, mountains, oceans, towns, maybe even it's engine... FILLED WITH POKÉMON!! Of course it's a stretch, and maybe you would have to adjust something to make it run with little (and big) monsters everywhere, but surely this would be 4-5 years out anyway. Here's where I geek-out a little, but imagine starting in a little town in 3D(!), a light narrative guiding you to the local professor, choosing your first Pokémon, and then being sent out the door in to an open world!! No hand-holding, no tutorial task, just be the best! Go grind in that field that you see over there before searching for the nearest gym? Sure! Buy a fishing pole and find a Magikarp? Ok! Climb that mountain and get roasted by a Charizard? Maybe you shouldn't, but you can! Buy a camera and spend hours snapping Pokémon? You can get paid for that! Or maybe you run and run and run, or ride the bike you stole, past increasingly difficult monsters, and eventually find yourself among lower level creatures again... in a different region!!I'm done with my fantasy, but you get the idea, and it does seem like a logical next step, though maybe years away, for Nintendo to help Game Freak with an engine and guide them into wringing everything from the Switch, similar to BotW, and creating a world-shaking Pokémon game.Or maybe not. It's Nintendo. Who knows. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2oFVBTC
