"[Compliant] Bike riding is worthless for getting distance"

#PokemonGO: I've known for some time that bike riding isn't a good way of getting buddy distance or hatching eggs, but decided to test it this weekend. I went on a 25 mile (40 km) bike ride, and the result was 4.8 km of distance. So I got less than an 1/8 the distance. I wish it weren't that stingy when you're biking. I understand the justification is that they don't want people to play while driving, but it would be nice if there were a workaround.
