"[Question] Does everyone toss trash high-CP mons in favor of their lower prestiger-CP twin?"

#PokemonGO: I've been doing this for a while, but wanted to get everyone else's take the matter. As a concrete example, let's assume I have a 1600 CP Crobat and 1200 CP Crobat, both with Air Slash and Sludge Bomb. Assume we're only talking about trash mons- mons with max CP so low they would never go in a gym other than as a gag and aren't useful in attacking. Unless IVs are near-perfect, I don't take them into consideration (side note: I almost always keep 95%+ L27+ mons, even trash), so ignore IVs. I also basically ignore level. I like having one mon for every dex number so I have a "Living" dex- I think a lot of players do this. But, I can't keep a bunch of useless Crobat around eating valuable storage space. So, in the situation above what I usually do is toss the 1600 Crobat and keep the 1200. The 1200 is in the ideal prestiger range (1200-1400) and may be useful in a few circumstances (or, sometimes I just mass favorite mons around a particular CP range, e.g. half the lowest gym mon's CP, to make my prestiger team real quick). I also try to upgrade to better prestiger movesets. The counter argument is always keeping the best, i.e. highest CP/IV, mons, and having one with each moveset is cool too. But I have literally no use for a Crobat unless they drastically change the game, and there is no further evolution. There are obvious trading implications, but let's ignore that for now. Thoughts? I apologize in advance to the Crobat Fan Club for calling him or her "trash". via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2oD7dYW
