"In light of the anniversary event I would like to share some information about Niantic with every one"

#PokemonGO: In their previous Ingress events Niantic has actually done some pretty solid things that should ease concerns of most trainers. 1) Location, location, locationTo start they rarely hold an event in just one place. Usually Niantic holds a few events at the same time and many close in time. They are very good about spreading them out all over the world. Just take a look at the list of all previous ingress events. Even in my little corner there have been quite a few within 3 hours of me. Here are the current anomaly locations for ingress. 2) What about spoofers? At all events Niantic requires physical check in. This means spoofers will not benefit from anything they are doing. Rewards for ingress in the past were given out on cards, but due to those being sold and transferred they changed it to pushing the rewards directly to a trainers account.2.1) VerificationHow they verified this was by:requiring an online registration saying you are attending. It asks you information about how you are traveling and your player name.having you check in with your team leader to confirm you are coming.using qr codes once you were on site to verify you were onsite. It is basically impossible to get credit for being there with out having been scanned in, and you have to scan in with your team leader so it is hard to scan in your "friend".One down side to this process is it took several weeks some times for the ingress rewards to populate. In our cases they showed up as anomaly badges, these top 4 badges are examples of unique badges that you had to attend an event to get and check in using this process. 3) TicketsFinally, while Pokemon Go is exponentially more popular than ingress I have never heard of an event being sold out, and rarely were they sold out of swag related to the game. You could buy tee shirts key chains power banks etc related to the events. I myself picked up a set of Ingress dice at the Abadon event in Tuscon AZ 2 winters ago. They have some free tickets and some tickets that you pay for that come with swag. https://youtu.be/szE1IfpoVos Is a video of one of the largest ingress events ever.Any way I hope this helps every one ease their minds and prepare for future events. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2sH9sM9
