"A long post speculating on Necrozma, and its relation to Z-Crystals and Solgaleo/Lunala"

Hope you have long arms, because this theory's a reach. Oh, and strap in cuz this is a long one.So I'm just gonna throw this out there: Necrozma is a Z-Crystal. Or Z-Crystals come from Necrozma.Let me walk you through my thought process. Let's start with Necrozma. So, Necrozma is the Prism Pokemon, right? Well, what are prisms exactly? Well, several searches online say this:Optical prisms are usually made of glass, plastics or fluorite.Fluorite is what I wanna talk about. Fluorite is is a pretty popular mineral. Here’s an interesting fact: It comes in a variety of colors. In fact, the most common colors of fluorite are purple, blue, green, yellow, and colorless; All colors (maybe baring colorless) that are present on Necrozma’s face, as well as the crest on “Ultra” Solgaleo and Lunala. Now, the thing about gemstones and minerals is that many of them have meanings. Fluorite is no exception; Search results describe it as having spiritual properties.Fluorite promotes spiritual and psychic wholeness and development, protection, and brings peace. It helps one meditate and learn to go past the "chatter" that our minds tend to generate when first learning to meditate. Deeper meditation past the "chatter" can give access to cosmic truth, attune to spirit guides or animal totems. This goes a long way to explain Necrozma’s Psychic typing. But it’s interesting to note that although Fluorite is said to promote peace, Necrozma’s Pokedex entries describe it as “vicious”; pretty much the total opposite of peaceful. Also, although this isn’t super strong evidence, Fluorite, like all minerals is found beneath the ground, just like how Necrozma’s Pokedex entries say it’s been sleeping underground. It may add to the idea that Necrozma is specifically a prism made of fluorite, rather than plastic or glass.A couple more facts about Fluorite:Fluorite is a stone of mental order and clarity. It is used to enhance mental clarity and reduce instability and disorder. This brings a wiser, more balanced view of life and improves decision making.Fluorite protects psychically as a psychic shield.Fluorite is also used to remove astral attachments, which brings a reduction or elimination of negative energy.Perhaps this transformation is meant to enhance Solgaleo/Lunala’s abilities and focus? The helm on their heads are covering up where their "third eye" would be. It could be possible that, unlike most people’s idea of Necrozma “corrupting" the duo, its power is "focusing" them; just like a prism! Fluorite is a stone of psychic protection, after all. Brings a new meaning to “Prism Armor", huh? Now, remember when I said that Fluorite is found in a variety of colors? Kinda reminds you of Z-Crystals, right? Well, that segues to my next point. Z-Crystals, so far, have absolutely no information about how they are created or where they come from. Even Mega Stones were revealed in XY to be mutated Evolution Stones. But nothing on Z-Crystals. I’m sure that’s intentional. I believe their origin is linked to Necrozma in some way. Either Z-Crystals are generated from Necrozma, or Z-Crystals and Necrozma originate from the same place, and are both made of the same material. You’re probably wondering why I’m so adamant about relating the Crystals to Necrozma, and that’s mostly because of the Japanese Logos of USM. Unlike SM’s logos, the Z-Crystals are replaced by the crest on “Ultra” Solgaleo/Lunala’s heads. For the last few Pokemon games (XY, ORAS, SM), a strange symbol/object is shown in their Japanese logos, whether that be the sigil for Mega Stones, the Red/Blue Orbs, and of couse, Z-Crystals. It just seems odd to replace the Z-Crystals in the logo for Necrozma’s symbol of all things, rather than like a super new Z-Crystal or something… Or did they? Also, did anyone else find it odd that SM's logos had a blue and yellow Z-Crystal on it, but Solgaleo and Lunala didn't have unique Z-Moves? What were they then? Just a random inclusion of Waterium Z and Electrium Z?Now one of the real mysteries people are trying to figure out is what exactly are these strange new forms of Solgaleo and Lunala. Personally, I don’t think the “Ultra" Forms are going to be anything that we’ve explicitly seen before. Many have brought up the idea that the Ultra forms will be like Kyurem’s forms from BW2, or they will use the DNA Splicers, or that Colress is involved. Although I can’t deny those possibilities, Game Freak usually tries their best to not do the same thing twice (at least in the terms of gimmicks…), so I think the Ultra Forms aren’t going to be a fusion like Kyurem. I could totally be wrong and they are a fusion, but I think it's kinda unlikely since we've sort have 'been there, done that'. However that doesn’t mean that we can’t look to older games to find an answer.ORAS introduced Primal Reversion, an offshoot of Mega Evolution, XY’s main feature. Primals allowed an automatic transformation when switched in, making it a slight deviation of Mega Evolution. ORAS also had Mega Rayquaza, a Pokemon that could Mega Evolve without a Mega Stone. I think that this escalation we saw from XY to ORAS may be adapted to Z-Moves.I have two possibilities to what the Ultra Forms are:1) Necrozma will have the ability to transform into a Z-Crystal or something similar that only Solgaleo/Lunala can use, and it will change their form and allow them to use a unique Z-Move multiple times in battle.2) Necrozma has the ability to upgrade the Z-Ring into the Black Z-Ring seen in the trailer, allowing Solgaleo/Lunala to take these forms without holding Z-Crystals and allow them to use a unique Z-Move multiple times in battle.A third possibility is that they really do fuse in some capacity, but the main thing is the ability to using a unique Z-Move multiple times in battle. Considering USM may be the last games of Gen 7, it's perfectly possible to see such an escalation occur. You're probably thinking that having a Pokemon use multiple Z-Moves in a battle is broken, but Primal Reversion and Mega Ray have proved that GF may not be the best judges for balance.Well, that's all I got. I stayed up all night writing this so I probably messed something up or didn't explain something properly, so feel free to comment/correct me. Obviously this theory has nothing to do with the Ultra Beasts, which will surely be important somehow since "Ultra" is in the title, but I still think this was a good enough idea to share. I just wanted to get this out because I've barely seen any real, thought-out theories on USM and this connection just came to me in the middle of the night, and I couldn't help myself from writing a damn thesis. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2sxllUK
