"For eggs, the change in distance isn't the most important thing"

#PokemonGO: So, others have discovered that the Pokémon that can hatch from the different types of eggs has changed. u/Dudleyshwam has been compiling the changes over here. People have voiced excitement/disappointment about different species moving between the 2k, 5k, and 10k pools. However, it seems to me that the distance of egg a Pokémon can hatch from is less relevant than the probability each species has of being in any given egg you receive from a Pokéstop. For those who haven't seen it, the Silph Road research team showed here that each pokemon species has a hidden rarity deciding how likely they are to be found in eggs.In my opinion, the relevant thing is how easy it will be for me to hatch a Tyrogue, Porygon, etc., not whether they will arrive in a 2k, 5k, or 10k egg. These hidden rarities may also have been changed along with the more visible change in distance pools, and that is the type of change that I'm more concerned about.TL;DR: While the Pokémon that can hatch from each type of egg is different now, the probability of finding different species in eggs may also have been changed, and that would be more relevant to attempts to complete the Dex. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2sWOWGu
