"How do Pokémon with a weakness to water survive in the Pokémon universe?"

This has always bothered me. So much like our planet I'm sure the world of Pokémon has plenty of water wether it be oceans, lakes, etc. I know that Pokémon of certain types tend to live in climates that suit them. For example, ground types live in more desert locations and fire types live in hot places like near volcanoes. But obviously with the involvement of people a lot of Pokémon are not living in their natural habitats. We all know the episode where Ash's Charmander gets stuck in the rain and almost dies. I know it was already weak to begin with so the rain just made it worse, but if a healthy fire type was stuck in the rain would it die eventually from exposure? And then there is another episode where it completely ignores weakness to water. In the episode where Ash's Phanpy hatches it falls in a river and while it's floating down stream not one person seems concerned that it's weak to water. And ,one last thing, there is a short clip in another episode that I can't remember the name of where there is an Arcanine just casually drinking water from a pond. What?!What is your take on it? Do you think that Pokémon are only weak to the water produced by other Pokémon (aka water attacks)? Do you think it's something else? I love hearing theories about the science of Pokémon so give it your best shot! via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2tYKQll
